Innovations Conference

I had a fabulous time speaking at the Innovations course put on by the State Bar of Texas and the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. Thursday, I spoke on “Defending the Accused,” and Friday, I spoke on “Trial of a Custody Case.” This conference is great for bringing together lawyers and mental health/forensic experts to explore child custody issues in depth.

Handling Your First Divorce Case Course

Emily Miskel directed the “Handling Your First (or Next) Divorce Case” course for the State Bar of Texas.  The course was held at the Texas Law Center in Austin on January 10, 2017.  She brought 14 lawyers and judges from across Texas to help train new lawyers and lawyers new to the practice of family law.

Judge Miskel moderated a judicial panel on “Advice from Judges on How to Present Your Case in Any Texas Court.”

Informal Swearing-In

Judge Miskel was sworn in on September 3, 2015, in the 470th district courtroom. She looks forward to immediately getting to work for the citizens of Collin County.  More information about the upcoming formal investiture ceremony will be provided soon.
