Emily Miskel directed the “Handling Your First (or Next) Divorce Case” course for the State Bar of Texas. The course was held at the Texas Law Center in Austin on January 10, 2017. She brought 14 lawyers and judges from across Texas to help train new lawyers and lawyers new to the practice of family law.
Judge Miskel moderated a judicial panel on “Advice from Judges on How to Present Your Case in Any Texas Court.”
I enjoyed presenting on new online and technology-related crimes at the State Bar of Texas Family Law & Technology course in Austin.
I had a great time speaking on Reunification Therapy and Court Orders with Dr. Aaron Robb, Christy Bradshaw Schmidt, and Dr. Susan Fletcher at the AFCC Symposium on Child Custody Evaluations in Atlanta. I learned a lot of practical information from the conference.
I had so much fun presenting on technology tools for litigators with my friends Mark Ilan Unger and Brett Burney at yesterday’s State Bar of Texas Technology for Litigators conference.
At the 2016 Annual Judicial Education Conference in San Antonio, the Texas Center for the Judiciary presented Judge Emily Miskel the Exemplary Article Award for her paper on admitting electronic evidence.
Today was the first day for candidates to file for a place on the Republican Primary ballot. Judge Miskel and her family joined the crowd at Collin County GOP headquarters to officially put her name on the ballot. It was exciting to see all of the candidates, and there was definitely a festive air at headquarters!
Texas first lady Cecilia Abbott hosted a delightful afternoon tea in Frisco. Many Collin County elected officials and organizations sponsored tables. Rep. Jeff Leach invited Judge Emily Miskel to be at his table, along with several other Golden Corridor Republican Women board members. The afternoon event was a fun and informal celebration of Abbott leadership.
Texas state representative Jeff Leach held his kickoff event in downtown Plano. The event was hosted by Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar and was attended by Judge Emily Miskel and many other Collin County elected officials.
Congressman Sam Johnson recorded a wonderful message for Judge Miskel’s investiture to the 470th district court. Congressman Johnson is an amazing leader for Collin County.
