Golden Corridor Republican Women selected their board members for the 2016 year. Judge Emily Miskel will again be serving on the board, in a new role as Literacy chair. She is so excited to being a part of this incredible, hardworking organization that is having so much impact in Collin County.
The meeting was hosted by U.S. Congressman Louie Gohmert, who gave a humorous and informative talk about his efforts to pursue conservative change in Washington.
The Collin County GOP 5th Annual Volunteer Luncheon was an impressive program. It was amazing to see so many clubs recognizing members and volunteers for their efforts. The awards were well-deserved by the hardworking volunteers who earned them.
A big thank-you to the Republican Women of North Collin County for hosting a great program on how to vet judicial candidates. Judge Miskel joined trial and appellate judges for a panel on how voters can evaluate judges. The program was educational and interactive.
Attended the CCCR meeting tonight. I really enjoyed the in-depth discussion of the upcoming proposed constitutional amendments and the local bond elections. I’m glad we have so many smart people keeping an eye on our county and providing educational commentary so that we can be informed voters!
The Collin County Women Lawyers Association held a great “Open Mic Mentoring” event tonight. Lawyers shared great advice and horror stories about the no-pants-allowed days of mandatory pantyhose. So glad to have these wonderful, smart, and funny women as my colleagues. Also great to see so many GCRW friends!
Judge Miskel attended the African American Republican Club of Collin County and enjoyed a great legislative update by Rep. Matt Shaheen. It was also wonderful to see Lynn Hadnot, Collin County’s new director of juvenile services.
The DFW Chapter of the American Society of Appraisers invited Judge Miskel to speak about safeguarding electronically-stored information. Judge Miskel frequently publishes and speaks on electronic evidence.
Judge Miskel attended the Frisco Tea Party September meeting. Erin Anderson, Director of Voter Engagement for True the Vote, gave an extremely informative presentation about engaging and registering voters. She also talked in detail about how the public can monitor all phases of the election process to ensure that it is fair and accurate.
Delicious food and fun folks at the Barbara Bush Republican Women’s meeting. Jodie Laubenberg gave a detailed update on the conservative accomplishments this legislative session.
